Stage 0 Drought Declared
Conditions Normal.

On June 9, 2009, The Catawba-Wateree Drought Management Advisory Group (DMAG) moved the basin’s drought conditions to normal.  According to the DMAG press release, “all water use restrictions can be lifted including those on landscape watering and car and power washing.”

The CMD Board of commissioners voted on June 10, 2009 to further reduce our drought restrictions and move Chester County to Stage 0. In accordance with the CW-DMAG, there are no restrictions at this time.

The Catawba River may be back to normal, but future rainfall patterns will dictate whether Chester will continue within normal ranges or fall back into drought conditions.

The Chester Metropolitan District would like to thank its customers for their cooperation and understanding in helping us meet our water reduction goals.
